My philosophy on Personal training begins by creating a strong mind-body connection.  It is only with this foundation you will be able to actualize a completely, healthy, functional and fit body for life. I emphasize the Mind-Body connection to create lasting nuero-pathways to correct bad postures, strengthen unused or damaged muscles, learning or re-learning proper movement technique to get all of your muscles back “online ” and functioning optimally.  I teach you how to create a new relationship with your body and take your fitness to a whole new level.       Without a strong Mind-Body connection results will always remain below your highest potential.   I use a varied combination of:  Strength, the ability to resist strain or stress i.e. Durability.  Mobility, the ability to move without restraint, pain and restriction and Traditional Mat Pilates, my favorite discipline of unique exercises designed by Joseph H Pilates to lengthen the muscles, reconnect to dormant or damaged muscles, improve posture, flexibility and longevity and a Plethora or Exercises I have created to challenge and strengthen all aspects of you! I am very passionate about the body and its abilities (everyone’s!) to change and recover and its astounding resilience!  I aim to help you achieve your goals and feel your best through mindful training with enduring results.

Mobility

  I use traditional as well as personally crafted exercises designed to strengthen and Lengthen the muscles simultaneously to equally construct leaner, denser muscles while increasing your range of motion.  Training you to achieve a whole new level of full body strength simultaneously increasing your mobility and agility.

Injury Recovery

  We work together to reactivate dormant or injured muscles and release overworked muscles that have been over-compensating.  This is where the mind-body connection is crucial and enforced, re teaching your muscles how to work together to off load stressed muscles and strengthen weak or unused muscles.   Creating this mind body awareness is tantamount to obtaining permanent results and moving better and getting back to all the activities you may have been missing out on!

Better Posture

  We all spend too much time slouched over a computer or our phones, sitting or driving, which leads to bad posture and a plethora of aches and pains.  Continuously mis-using our bodies, from over sitting or too many daily hours of inactivity have forced many muscles to go “off-line” and many other muscles to overcompensate  for the neglect of those muscle, so even when you do move or exercise its often only using the muscles that are already overused!  Learning how the body is naturally designed to sit, stand and move is essential for getting rid of constant aches and pains and getting all of your muscles back “online” is the only way to achieve better posture.

Lean Muscle Building and Strength Training

My workouts are designed to strengthen the entire body.  You will learn how to properly perform body weight exercises from an abundance of my uniquely created  body movements as well as some traditional exercises to really tone up your body.   You will learn how to get in touch with all of your muscles,  just focusing on strengthening stronger larger muscle groups but strengthening all of your supporting muscle.   This not only helps you to move and feel better, it simultaneously builds lean dense muscles which help strengthen bones, burn more calories and give you a more svelte, defined body!

Sports Specific Training

I love to move and move as often as possible I love working with athletes!  I have years of experience working with swimmers, surfers, cyclists, gymnasts, golfers, tennis…you name it.  The principles of my training are all the same but we gear it toward a specific goal; are you going on a surf trip?  do you need a larger swing in your golf stroke? are you going to do a ski trip? Do you want to learn how to do handstand or the gymnastics rings?  we can gear your workouts for a specific goal or trip, all sports still involve my Core principle – the Core!

Tabitha is a gifted trainer with an infectiously positive attitude who truly understands how the body works.  A fantastic listener, she and I became a team that helped me overcome severe injury and become strong once again.

I’m an avid cyclist, who after years of hard riding, began to experience lower back pain, including sciatic nerve pain down my legs. My daily life was adversely affected.  Anytime I participated in any activity that involved sitting, I was in serious discomfort at best, and in sheer agony at worst.  I sought help from some of the best doctors and physical therapists in town, yet achieved no relief.  

I was tremendously fortunate to meet Tabitha.  She first worked with me on stretching, and then later on building core strength through Pilates-style workouts she created.  After every session, I felt a little better. In a relatively short amount of time, I was able to get back on the bike and complete a 100-mile ride with almost no discomfort!  My results have been merely phenomenal — and could not have happened as fast and as positively without her.
